WE DECLARE A CLIMATE
EMERGENCY

Work hard, play hard, and celebrate wins as a team.

It’s no coincidence that many of our staff have been with us for over 20 years.

TROPIC’S COMMUNITY FOCUS EXTENDS BEYOND OUR TRAVEL EXPERIENCES TO
THE OFFICE (OUR XMAS PARTIES ARE PRETTY LEGENDARY).

Fun aside, training the team is a core focus to ensure everyone is working towards the same goals, whether that’s product training, destination training or even conservation.

FAM trips to gain first-hand product knowledge are also key.

JASCI,
CEO

The Galapagos is magic – seeing the wildlife everywhere, totally fearless.
But I love taking surf trips on the Pacific Coast with my wife & kids. There’s nothing like eating fresh shrimps and coconuts after a day on the water.

MARU,
Commercial MANAGER

I love Lake Titicaca because you don’t understand how beautiful it is when you see it on the map. But when you arrive there and see it’s super blue, it’s beautiful – and it’s amazing to see all the communities living there.

Gabriel,
Ecuador Commercial Manager

Quito is not only my city of birth, UNESCO declared the city’s Old Town as a World Heritage Site. Every corner, every house is full of history. There are museums, colonial churches, and so many experiences to discover local culture.

Cristina,
Sales Manager

Cotopaxi National Park is a jewel. Being in the heart of the Volcano Avenue, surrounded by the Andes Mountains is a magical experience. Among other activities, Biking around to explore is one of my favourite experiences.

THE TROPIC DIFFERENCE

Meet the DMC that champions responsible tourism and doesn’t
just use it as a buzzword.

PEOPLE COME FIRST

87% of travellers want to make their next trip more sustainable. Your guests can travel confidently knowing that we share their goals.

Tropic started with a deep connection to the Huaorani community in Ecuador’s Amazon and a determination to do tourism right. Working with the Huaorani people, we started a community-based tourism project, focused on the conservation of the forest and the Huaorani culture.

People are at the heart of everything we do – from the sales process, to planning itineraries, to taking care of our staff and guides. If you look after people and communities, the rest will follow.

GUIDE TRAINING PROGRAMME

While your clients travel, it’s the guides that will leave a laying impression. And it’s the guides that can educate travellers on the impact their trip makes on the planet and its people.

Twice every year, we focus on training our guides on everything – including safety protocols, service, destinations, and responsible travel – so they play an important role in conserving this amazing corner of the world.

We see guides as the guardians of the destination and we named the programme after this concept in the hopes that it inspires them to continue our mission.

RAINFOREST ALLIANCE CERTIFIED

We’re proud to be the first tour operator to be Preferred by Nature Certified (previously Rainforest Alliance). We were also a founding member of the Ecuador Eco-Tourism Association and use it as a platform to educate businesses and communities about the importance of responsible travel.

All our guides, drivers and office staff are trained regularly on our responsible tourism values. It’s a passion we all share and a mission we keep at the forefront of our business.

Why do I work with Tropic? “The small
boutique feel, personal relationship with
Jasci and his commitment to ethical tourism”

I WANTED A PARTNER WHO COULD MAKE MY LIFE EASIER AND QUOTE GENUINELY TAILOR-MADE ITINERARIES COMBINING MAINLAND ECUADOR WITH GALAPAGOS BOAT AND/OR LAND PACKAGES. SO FAR IT HAS BEEN EASY, STRAIGHTFORWARD AND ENJOYABLE WHICH WAS WHAT I WAS EXPECTING. I’M DEFINITELY VERY HAPPY SO FAR!
